Children don't hate anything. (Well maybe naps.) They do get cranky though. Some never grow out of it, like me. I don't hate but I get cranky and I like it. I doubt it’s only the crusty wisdom of my age. I ranted in the King's English at the age of five bragged my mother who took credit for it. A rant is crank with a current of emotional firepower. Crank is reflective, calm.

Crank is critical thinking refined, winked with humor & expressed with a whiff of disgust. Crank is having the stuff to artfully and with cool disassemble, evaluate & comment on whatever may cross a line of sight. Crank may be the modern human’s most necessary survival skill in the wild, the wild world.

Targets for our crank? Well, we give stick to the output of the idiot, the bully, the fact denier and the blowhard, the liar, the dummy, the hypocrite, the windbag, the braying do-gooder, the bigot and the thief.
